Treatment Approaches

Point of Entry (POE)

Commonly referred to as a “whole house system,” Point-of-Entry (POE) treatment is set up in your basement at the point where water enters your home. This system ensures all water used in your house is filtered. POE systems encompass a variety of solutions including Water Softeners, Acid Neutralizers, Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) Filtration, Ultraviolet (UV) Purification, and specialized systems designed for specific purposes like arsenic or nitrate removal.

Point of Use (POU)

Typically mounted under the kitchen sink, Point-of-Use (POU) systems filter water at a single point in the home. Very often, a dedicated faucet is added to dispense the filtered water. Available options for this setup include Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Carbon Block Under-Sink filtration systems.

PFAS (Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances)

These persistent “forever chemicals” are widespread, travel with groundwater, and do not degrade in the environment. The presence of any detectable amount of PFAS can potentially lead to adverse health effects.. Click here for more information.

Radon in Water

The main worry with Radon in Water arises from the radon released into the air during water use, such as showering or dishwashing. If Radon in Water levels exceed 4,000 pCi/L, it’s cricial to assess overall Radon exposure. This involves testing Radon in the Air to gauge radon from soil gas, and in an upper living area, to determine the relative contribution of water to air radon levels. Click here for more information
